Vineyard near Stambolovo
May 28, 2008
A vineyard of 2 900 sq m located 3 km from Stambolovo village. Year-round easy access is provided by an asphalt road that borders the plot.

The vines are 20 years old and belong to the sort Cabernet. Stambolovo village lies 21 km southeast from the town of Haskovo and 60 km from Kardjali. It is also less than an hour drive away from the town of Svilengrad, which is a major connection point between Greece, Turkey and Bulgaria.
The Thracian tribes, which occupied the area in ancient times, were mostly involved in trade and wine production. Recently a vine considered to be 3 000 years old was found near Tatul village (28 km). The Thracians acquired special techniques related to the preparation of this divine beverage that are still cherished by the local population.
